Paul Logan, Creative Director at breathingjuice recently attended the Social Media & Social Media Monitoring workshop at the Conway Hall in London. The event was set up by the School for Startups and supported by the Technology Strategy Board which meant that it attracted a varied crowd; attendees were a mixture of business marketing staff through to the creative folk that were invited via Glug — a creative social event.

The day was hosted by Andrew Davis who is one of the UK’s leading authorities on digital and social media. He is a very knowledgeable speaker who made some excellent points that included separating a social strategy plan into the ‘4 C’s’ — Creation, Context, Conversation and Conversion.

The afternoon session explained how website users are able to find creative content on the web and how companies such as breathingjuice are able to help their clients create successful campaigns — the simple concept that web users will only be able to find your content in three ways was refreshing to hear; ‘Search, Share and Discover’.

Brand Remedy have an exceptional client list and breathingjuice has been fortunate enough to collaborate on projects for The Royal College of Music, The British Academy, Tradeweb and The Royal College of Nursing, to name but a few. A successful partnership has evolved which has produced some exceptional moving image content that supports both Brand Remedy and their client’s digital marketing strategies.

Made & Told sell handcrafted homeware made by artisans and craft cooperatives in Central Asia, alongside stories from the cultures and contexts in which they were made.

Made & Told are a fantastic new online trading platform that promotes products created by artisans and craft cooperatives in Central and also donates 50% of their profits to Crosslink Development International and Central Asian Crafts Support Association in Kyrgyzstan.

The filming environment was set-up within my office space and to maximise the Canon 550D DSLR body I contacted Filmplus to hire an exceptional Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8 L USM Lens and what a difference this made. Stunning low light results in what turned out to be typically grey autumnal days. Lighting conditions were also helped out by 4 x Dedo light 100/150W Heads — again hired from Filmplus. The images below were taken during the shoot.

The edit is currently being finalised in FCP with the additional motion graphic elements created in After Effects. The video is due to be released in conjunction with ICWE’s largest conference Online Educa Berlin but more on that soon.

Rupert Ray are a relatively new creative agency founded by Alex Maclean and Caroline Matthews, both former creative director and managing director respectively of Airside. I freelanced at Airside on and off for over 4 years and it’s great to be back with Alex and Caroline and to see how well RR is coming together.

With London 2012 fast approaching I’ve been called into an agency to help produce some motion graphics for the Olympic games. That’s all I can say for now but as you can imagine it’s a brilliant project to work on :)

breathingjuice has been commissioned by The Special Yoga Centre to create a short film to promote the Get Ready to Learn programme.

The programme supports children’s emotional health and well-being therein resulting in the ability to teach children the skills they need, rather than simply managing their behaviour. This practice can also be used in daily life outside the classroom.

Filming took place in 2 special schools in Gloucestershire and 3 in London, where Teachers were interviewed and the yoga sessions respectively recorded. It was an amazing experience to be within these classroom environments so many thanks to the Teachers and especially the children / young adults who allowed me to observe their daily yoga practice.

The final stages of the edit are being finalised before post production is completed.
