Babyhood film

The animation Baby Sleep that breathingjuice originally produced for the Smile for London exhibition has now been used within a new film called Babyhood, produced by Kate Jangra.

This project was born out of my experiences of having my first child, and how much it made me question myself and everything i thought was normal.

I hope that the film is something that starts a debate, a thought or something that will help you to follow your instinct and not be led down the mainstream, self-conscious, tried and failed route. — Kate Jangra

I’ve watched the film and it’s a fantastic insight into why it’s so important that parents trust their natural instincts and allow themselves not to get fixated by parenting ‘rules’ set out by popular parenting guide books. There’s an impressive range of people interviewed including Camila Batmanghelidjh, Carrie LongtonSue Gerhardt and Sue Palmer to name a but a few.

The entire film is available to watch for a very reasonable fee via distrify and below is a small taster.

Thanks so much for letting me use your Baby Sleep animation in the film, Paul.

I really wish we had had more time and a budget for creating more animation around Hollie’s poetry…especially as so many people have said how much they liked it!

    peace and love,
